PRINCIPAL
Lisa has taught in a variety of schools and age groups in the wider Wellington area including both Montessori and mainstream.
Lisa’s teaching career began in the 2000s when she had worked as a reliever and then as a music specialist teacher.
Lisa has also worked with a range of children as a tutor in Porirua,Wellington, New Zealand and has had recent experience homeschooling her own child.
Lisa believes in life long learning and has been learning Te Reo Māori which has helped her again think about what learning is and how to make Montessori more inclusive.
Lisa keeps up to date with the latest in education and has been relieving at Porirua Schools in 2022 as well as tutoring children. Lisa is particularly interested in play based education and culturally relevant maths education.
Her qualifications include:
- BA/BTeach
- Grad Dip ECE
- Montessori Diploma 6-12

My name is Summer I am Kaiawhina here at Porirua Montessori. I have been on my education support journey over the past year and have been on placement with the Kura for term 1 and 2.
My goal and aspirations is to nurture and support our Tamariki here at the Montessori and help them learn and grow on their education Journey.
