Arts education (Music, Dance, Visual and Drama) explores, challenges, and celebrates who humans are. It embraces toi Māori, including customary and contemporary Māori performing, musical, and visual arts.

Learning in, through, and about the arts develops empathy, imagination, and feelings.

Arts education values children’s experiences and builds on these to grow knowledge and skills.

Students will develop skills in

Understanding the arts in context,

Developing practical knowledge in the arts,

Developing ideas in the arts, and 

Communicating and interpreting in the arts.
